PERSONAL TRAVEL STORY: PERU

My Mom has been a travel agent for as long as I can remember. She has seen the world with her own eyes and helped thousands of others plan their dream vacations. Through her example, traveling and learning about other cultures has always been incredibly important to me. To celebrate her retirement, we went to Peru together to see Machu Picchu and check another off our 7 Wonders of the World list.

The altitude hit us hard reaching 13,000 ft above sea level, but Peru is a beautiful country to visit. The massive Andes have a way of making you feel insignificant. The food was incredible, and the history and legacy of the Pre-Inca civilizations mind-blowing. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the things they were able to do and make, and the knowledge they had thousands of years ago. The most wonderful thing I took away from Peru however was the kindness of it's people, their pride for their country, and the desire to share it with all those who visit.

All photos taken with my Fuji X-T1, which I've decided is my favorite little travel camera.
