STRANGERS

This personal project was shot on my Father’s old Canon A-1 camera and a roll of Portra 800. 36 exposures, 36 strangers. Every single person I asked to photograph that day said yes, and I am forever thankful to those Portlanders for that kindness. I attempted this project at a difficult time in my life while I was going through a divorce. Rejection and shame is a scary thing, and their willingness to participate was incredibly special and healing to me. This project was about the process, the human connection, and my community. Those are the things that inspire me and keep me hungry for more.
